Where will you meet your next customer?
It doesn’t matter what kind of business you are running. There are two mandatory activities you need to constantly implement in your business. Finding new customers and nurturing current customers.
Most people are gifted in one and have to make a conscious effort to work the other. Truth moment, I am gifted at finding new customers. It’s just something about it. From marketing to offering a new client a service or product that will transform their life. I have to toot my own horn. I am a rock star. lol
Why? I love attending Networking Events. You just never know where you are going to meet your next customer. And it isn’t always about a new customer. The connections and partnerships you make at these events could drastically change the course of your business.
But don’t be like some business owners. Running around like a chicken without a head trying to collect every business card they can get. No bueno! This is cold and defeats the purpose.
The most effective strategy is to build relationships and have a genuine conversation with people. Learn about their business. Identify how you can help them. Discover how they could help you.
Here are a couple tips for getting the most out of your next networking event:
#1 – Have your 30 second pitch ready and memorized. Make sure it flows naturally and people clearly understand what you do.
#2 – Listen attentively. Find out what they do. Ask questions. Show a genuine interest in what they do.
#3 – Exchange contact information. Most people exchange business cards so be ready. Depending on the size of the event, you should always have 50 business cards available to give to your new “business friend”.
#4 – Follow up. Call them the following day. Let them know you are glad they met and look forward to building a business relationship with them.
O.K. Wealth Builder. Let’s make it happen. Go online and find 2 networking events for you to attend asap. Go Get It!! 😉
